The US Ghost Towns Project was started in April of 2003 by Michael & Doris Robbins. Various volunteers quickly came on board willing to put their time and efforts in to researching the various ghost towns across the United States and providing websites with relevant information for visitors interested in the topic. Trisha Bleau was one of the first state hosts who was more than willing to take over the coordinating of the project when Doris found it to be more than she could handle, though she continues to contribute to the project and offer her support for all of the individuals involved. The project continued to grow quickly with more and more volunteers signing up to adopt the available states. Unfortunately sometime in 2007 the website went off-line and remained so until October 2011 when the contents of the original website were recovered and placed back on-line. We're looking forward to the project getting back on track and growing into the future.
